Hi! I'm a newbie. I have a question. How to determine by a smart contract that it is a scam? What are the ways to do this? And what methods do scammers use to cheat? There are coins that cannot be sold after purchase. Thanks for the answer!

Jun 5, 2021, 10:08 AM
Well
You can look up for whitepaper
Best example is siba token. They mentioned they will transfer 50% to Vitalik.. which already raises red flag
After that you can go for the code base
If you see the admin is too much in control of functions, then it may be a scam
Jun 5, 2021, 10:21 AM
they have sent If I am not wrong
Jun 5, 2021, 10:32 AM
Yeah they did, problem is that people thought that sending to vitalik means burn๐Ÿ˜‚
So when he sold some of it they panicked
Jun 5, 2021, 10:34 AM
he burn btw
Jun 5, 2021, 10:35 AM
Yeah later he did
Jun 5, 2021, 10:35 AM
He sent some to Matic to help India. And that triggered a plummet.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:39 AM
Lol free marketing
Jun 5, 2021, 10:39 AM
Yeah but that's dumb, people got scared for that and not for the swaps on uniswap
Jun 5, 2021, 10:40 AM
Yo, a very stupid question, how do I get solc compiler installed on Windows?
Jun 5, 2021, 10:40 AM
Remix app?
Jun 5, 2021, 10:40 AM
No one would expect him to do anything with it, but he did it for charity...
Jun 5, 2021, 10:40 AM
Can't you install it through npm?
Jun 5, 2021, 10:41 AM
Thank you for your answers! Then the question is, how do scammers make it so that they can't sell the coin later?
Jun 5, 2021, 10:41 AM
Yes, I could, but solc and solcjs are not recognized. Have tried quite a few things.
Including adding folder to PATH variable.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:41 AM
Lots of ways, idk if it's ok to list them here though ahahah
The other day a guy came here to learn how to scam basically
Jun 5, 2021, 10:42 AM
Nooo)
Jun 5, 2021, 10:42 AM
If you know solidity always read the code before buying anything
Jun 5, 2021, 10:43 AM
ERC20 has so much room to be manipulative.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:43 AM
I have a team. We want learn how identify scam๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
We have community and youtube channel. And want make video about scam
It very interesting for me
On the Internet, the information is generalized.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:45 AM
Try analyzing coins that scammed and try to understand how they did that, code is public and so are transactions
Jun 5, 2021, 10:46 AM
There is one trick that was even played on a China's national TV program. I am not going to give it out for free. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Jun 5, 2021, 10:46 AM
I compared the scam contract and the regular one. I found one difference. But I'm not sure it's the same. I'll throw it off now. Maybe you'll jump up.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:48 AM
The guy/scammer was based in Toronto and created tens of coins with the same trick. Every single time, he's made hundreds of thousands of dollars. It is hard to believe that it could work.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:48 AM
currently flashloan attacks are more common on bsc, read about them online. you'll get idea how a minor code bug can cause a million dollar liquidity loss.

for projects searching (to find whethere it's scam or not just deep dive into there smartcontract, find loopwholes.).
dyor on there websites, whitepaper and more.
Jun 5, 2021, 10:48 AM
Perhaps my search led to the wrong place๐Ÿ™‰
Jun 5, 2021, 10:50 AM
Yeah
Jun 5, 2021, 10:50 AM
it's not a bug. you're right, your search led to the wrong place
Jun 5, 2021, 10:51 AM
OK. Thank you! I will look further!
Jun 5, 2021, 10:52 AM
guys do you know if is there a way to charge bnb fee for a transfers? I think no right?
I mean
I want to increase the bnb fee
as I thought
thanks
Jun 5, 2021, 11:22 AM
Well in lamden blockchain 90% tx fees goes to dev
Jun 5, 2021, 11:44 AM
?
Jun 5, 2021, 11:49 AM
it's possible for tokens (if token has set some fee in bnb).
eg. for every transactions 5 % is deducted and 2.5% of which is sold for bnb and distributed and other 2.5 is added to liquidity on dex.
Jun 5, 2021, 11:52 AM
yes this I know really well thanks๐Ÿ˜
Jun 5, 2021, 11:56 AM
๐Ÿ˜‚
Jun 5, 2021, 11:56 AM
but I was asking because I was kicked from moonrat chat
Jun 5, 2021, 11:56 AM
OH, Yeah they use same mechanism that I told you.
Jun 5, 2021, 11:56 AM
because I demonstrated to all that they, ghostface and hodl are telling FAKE things
yes but they said to charge a 2 bnb fee for whales. Well this is Fake
just read the code
Jun 5, 2021, 11:57 AM
Its different from solidity
Written in python
Jun 5, 2021, 11:59 AM
did you find any big transactions beyond there limit ( that they described)
Jun 5, 2021, 12:00 PM
I tested on testnet
Jun 5, 2021, 12:01 PM
V1 or V2
Jun 5, 2021, 12:01 PM
oh ok thanks but I was searching on bsc
doesn't matter
it is not related to pancake
anyway on testnet there is no v1 or v2
just testnet
Jun 5, 2021, 12:02 PM
lol.
there token smartcontract V1 ( has been backdoors to drain all liquidity and bnb).
Then they launched V2)
Jun 5, 2021, 12:02 PM
I used the exact same code of the actual moonrat token
I thought you was talking about pancake router version
Jun 5, 2021, 12:04 PM
try to send more than 1500000000000000
Jun 5, 2021, 12:07 PM
already tried
Jun 5, 2021, 12:08 PM
I checked there code, it's on owner hands to change the transfer limit. (more than that will cost 2 bnb)
Jun 5, 2021, 12:08 PM
did you read the code?
nope
show me where this fee is charged please
disruptiveTransfer is never used
Jun 5, 2021, 12:09 PM
owner is exluded, add it on pancakeswap (dummy) and try to send tokens from other account.
Jun 5, 2021, 12:15 PM
man you really think I am so noob?๐Ÿ˜‚
Jun 5, 2021, 12:15 PM
lol.. I just visited there site, they changed lot of things.
Jun 5, 2021, 12:16 PM
did you find where the BIG fee is charged?
Jun 5, 2021, 12:16 PM
I Found that in earlier version now I couldn't (in V2/V3)
Jun 5, 2021, 12:17 PM
do you have v1?
I need it please
Jun 5, 2021, 12:17 PM
Check there twitter if they had, if they deleted I don't know.
Jun 5, 2021, 12:17 PM
moonRat staff didn't know how to answer ahah
they are dumb
Jun 5, 2021, 12:17 PM
lol
Jun 5, 2021, 12:18 PM
https://bscscan.com/token/0x6D949f9297A522c0f97C232CC209a67Bd7CfA471
found
Jun 5, 2021, 12:22 PM
check line number 1214
Jun 5, 2021, 12:25 PM
same contract lol
no fees charges as they say
so?
do you know what is it? a variable
nothing else
@mark123mark now search where it is used
Jun 5, 2021, 12:27 PM
No one has used it.
big transfer are made by owners (or whitelisted address only)
Jun 5, 2021, 12:28 PM
no I mean
in the code
do you know solidity right?
Jun 5, 2021, 12:28 PM
oh, wait a sec.
check 1213 to 1307
Jun 5, 2021, 12:30 PM
1307 is a }
I am asking:
can you find, where in the code, this disruptive fee is charged?
the answer is NO
because the only thing the contract does is checking that msg.value is < disruptiveFee
nothing else
this function where is it used๐Ÿ˜‚
Jun 5, 2021, 12:39 PM
never used lol
Jun 5, 2021, 12:40 PM
exactly
Jun 5, 2021, 12:40 PM
just a marketing tactic
Jun 5, 2021, 12:40 PM
exactly
they are dumb
test it
ahahh me too
it was only to demonstrates to all
thank for your time
Jun 5, 2021, 12:43 PM
is state mutability required in an interface? I happen not to write view for functions in some interfaces but got neither warnings nor errors.
Jun 5, 2021, 12:49 PM
because I am searching for this sicne 2 weeks lol
so do you agree with me that moonrat, hodl and ghostface are saying shit?๐Ÿ˜‚
Jun 5, 2021, 1:00 PM
Any new lesson sensei
Tell us about your test soon๐Ÿ˜‚
Jun 5, 2021, 1:36 PM
Jun 5, 2021, 2:51 PM
Hello again! As I mentioned earlier I'm a beginner๐Ÿ™‚I want to start learning the commands that are used in โ€œRemix". Maybe there is some clear reference where you can view information on each function?
Jun 5, 2021, 2:53 PM
Yes, you are using solidity inside remix, so google about solidity
And that's what you'll be learning :p
haven't tried this course
https://cryptozombies.io/en/course
but some people say it helps beginners
Jun 5, 2021, 2:54 PM
but my question is
Jun 5, 2021, 2:58 PM
and sadly no initialize public method and he initialized ownership well so not vulnerable to that attack :/
Jun 5, 2021, 2:58 PM
why people buy this shit
Jun 5, 2021, 2:58 PM
Because at some point on the bull run people forgot they were using defi
and they started buying dog coins and moons and x100s
even me. had fun with the x100s xdxd
Jun 5, 2021, 2:59 PM
๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
Jun 5, 2021, 3:01 PM
looks like a experienced scammer did it
Jun 5, 2021, 3:01 PM
nah
contract is shit
oh he could be experienced scammer but shitty coder tho
Jun 5, 2021, 3:02 PM
he is shitty coder? coded strong code
can't be broken
Jun 5, 2021, 3:02 PM
Doesn't mean it's good
IT's a really simple contract
anyone with a coding background can code an if (owner)
the longer the contract => easier to make mistakes
but that one is a really short read
Jun 5, 2021, 3:03 PM
Meh experienced, low effort
Jun 5, 2021, 3:04 PM
^
Jun 5, 2021, 3:04 PM
Btw sorry but there is nothing that can be done๐Ÿ˜…
Jun 5, 2021, 3:04 PM
Still surprised there are this kind of shit on Ethereum :(
thought the fees would have moved all scammers to bsc
Jun 5, 2021, 3:04 PM
Interesting thing is the "condition function" could have just made a return false๐Ÿ˜‚
But i guess he made it like that to obfuscate code
Jun 5, 2021, 3:05 PM
yeah that's why i said shitty coder
but might be this ig uess
if it was for obfuscation could have been done way better
Jun 5, 2021, 3:05 PM
All conditions checked will never return true, it checks if values are >0 but sets them at 0 in constructor and never changes them anywhere
Jun 5, 2021, 3:05 PM
Have seen honeypots saying something like require(airdropUser[msg.sender])
or some shit like that
haha
Jun 5, 2021, 3:05 PM
But wait...
Ah no ok
No nothing can be done sorry
Jun 5, 2021, 3:06 PM
ohh
Jun 5, 2021, 3:06 PM
at a point i thought he didn't initialize and we could snatch ownership but nay
Jun 5, 2021, 3:07 PM
Owner should have to call approveAndCall with your address to make you able to sell
Jun 5, 2021, 3:07 PM
Yeah
Jun 5, 2021, 3:07 PM
My wait was caused by the lack of onlyowner modifier but noticed the require right after that
Jun 5, 2021, 3:08 PM
Lost money, but learnt somethink I would implement after my blockchain project
Jun 5, 2021, 3:08 PM
Man you don't want to implement shit like this I hope ahahah
Jun 5, 2021, 3:08 PM
thanks a lot guys!
Jun 5, 2021, 3:08 PM
Otherwise I regret telling you how he scammmed you
Behave well
Jun 5, 2021, 3:08 PM
I mean I will try to write good code
no I'm not a scammer mindset at all
Jun 5, 2021, 3:09 PM
did anyone has used multisender.app
??
Jun 5, 2021, 3:09 PM
sorry, If I said something wrong
why did u stopped?
Jun 5, 2021, 3:11 PM
geez i want the bull run to be over so we can have a real dev chat ;_;
Jun 5, 2021, 3:11 PM
yeah, sorry for that too
Jun 5, 2021, 3:12 PM
not due to you
most of the people enter here asking on how to create the honeypots
instead of the other way round
Jun 5, 2021, 3:12 PM
create lol? direct ban
Jun 5, 2021, 3:12 PM
so yea this grup ips basically 90% people trying to learn to scam
sadly
and people rejecting helping lol
Jun 5, 2021, 3:13 PM
TBH, this group should not be open for crypto related queries, whatever I asked is not appropriate to ask here
Jun 5, 2021, 3:14 PM
?
Jun 5, 2021, 3:14 PM
meh idc helping and educating
Jun 5, 2021, 3:14 PM
I'm also learned and joined this group with that intention not for crypto relted helps
Jun 5, 2021, 3:14 PM
i just dislike when people enter and ask on how to deploy a safemoon
Jun 5, 2021, 3:14 PM
I wish I knew there were community of solidity developers on telegram before safemoon ahahah
Jun 5, 2021, 3:15 PM
I wish i knew about defi b4 january/feb l0l
this group is dope and will get doper :D
Jun 5, 2021, 3:17 PM
๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป
Jun 5, 2021, 3:18 PM
why defi?
He is helping nicely
Jun 5, 2021, 3:19 PM
I've been helping and discussing solidity here mostly :(
Defi here to stay, not the x100 coins :p
Jun 5, 2021, 3:24 PM
yeah, but u have good technical knowledge and do these plays too, why don't u play with these early?
Jun 5, 2021, 3:25 PM
I take them as casino plays, I've had more luck than at the roulette
hahah
Jun 5, 2021, 3:26 PM
